Hi! This is Mr. Squires. I am the Video Production/Computer Graphics teacher and site Tech Coordinator here at Thurston High School. I am excited to be in my fourth year at THS, especially since I am now a permanent contracted teacher. I taught for 6 years in California before moving my family to Oregon. I have a background in Communications and experience as a TV producer/director on the East Coast. In the classroom, I act as production manager and the student production teams create different media products while learning about the elements of media production.
My goal is to build the media program and increase the use of technology in all areas of the curriculum. During school year 2010-11, Video Production is still working on transitioning into a Career & Technical Education (CTE) course, joining a solid list of other CTE courses at THS. This year, I am continuing and expanding my class blog as a way of communicating with parents, supporting all my students, and showcasing student work.
